“most of the problems in the world are either women or money, sometimes both”

Fr. Doyle was the priest at mass today. He’s a retired Irish priest who comes in whenever our parish priest is out of town. I love Fr. Doyle.

He’s totally hilarious, and all about educating. He actually doesn’t go over so well here because his masses tend to be longer, but I’m used to an hour and a half mass so it’s no sweat for me. I think he’s incredibly entertaining. He goes for crowd involvement “now, what was David’s problem?” (while drawing a curvy lady in the air) “anyone?…don’t be shy! lose those inhibitions!” He says things like how David got her “in a family way” and how the woman in the gospel was “a lady of the night, scarlet woman, if you understand me.” wink wink, nudge nudge.

Fr. Doyle loves to talk about sin. Sometimes I think he’s got the I’m retired so I can say whatever I want thing going on, because he never fails to call people out on something.  I love the way he totally shocks the home crowd.  anyway, I should go finish packing as I’m off to California tomorrow (I’m really very excited).
