I spent the weekend in Urbana! it was a major relief to be able to feel comfortable and relax and see best friends and do fun things.
Friday night I went to Murphys with the Ale/ixes, always a good time. Ran into Bob from ICS and he and I quoted Feynman and nerded out.
Saturday morning, Katharine and I baked pumpkin bread and had tea on the Fever House porch. Nope, pretty sure no one knew we were there. Yup, it was pretty darn nice.
Then on to hanging out with the ale/ixes and watching illinois lose at football! just like old times. Alex and I went out to buy a nerf gun and what did we see on our return?
storm trooper doing chemistry! not something you see every day. other highlights of the weekend include getting to have actual good conversations with almost everyone I know who still lives in Urbana (except Ed. sorry, Ed) and those no longer in Urbana but back for the weekend (we’re old! seminarians are cool!), baking cookies at 1am in the rectory (mmm so tasty oatmeal-chocolate chip), brunch at Radio Maria (our favorite!), stealing books, baking pies, Planet Earth dvd ownership, dancing, adoration, and spending a lot of time with Katharine.
I thought Illlinois had been winning – until you return?
Mmm, pumpkin bread. I just had a pumpkin biscotti at a cafe!! I love pumpkin season.
i’m sad i couldn’t make it down. :’(
So, the conversation with Ed was not good?
