not classy, but effective

so a couple of weeks ago Mairead and I went on a major shopping trip (Aldi and Goodwill) and I bought a pair of pants for $4. They’re nice, black with tasteful pink pinstripes, and are actually the same as another pair I own just in a different color. I brought them home, washed them, and wore them to work the next day. no problem. very cute.

the pants are back in rotation this week so I threw them on this morning, had breakfast, checked my email, got ready for work and then noticed at 8:50 (five minutes after when I should leave for work) that the entire hem of the right pant leg had fallen out. I swear they were fine the last time I wore them! unfortunately I didn’t have time to change clothes (my pink shirt would not go with my other clean pants) or fix the hem properly, so I had to scotch tape my hem up so I could get to work on time.

it’s held all day so far. success!

One time I wore sandals to work that just had one strap across the foot, and the strap broke and I had to use the “20-pages plus” industrial stapler to get my shoe in a condition that would make it through the rest of the day. Of course, that’s what you get for wearing the same sandals for over two years.
