this weekend mairead and I went to the movies. we splurged and went to see Dan in Real Life. we even bought popcorn!
the movie was just what we needed, nothing too dramatic or challenging, but funny. Basically, it was amusing how awkward this man’s life was. It reminded me of my own. Like if I was a middle-aged male writer with three kids and a large family in Rhode Island I could see that situation happening to me, as pretty much every situation I become a part of becomes painfully awkward.
anyway, my favorite part of the movie?
That’s right! Sondre Lerche did the soundtrack and I love him. I’ve loved him since I was a freshman in college and I saw him open for Nada Surf at the Courtyard Cafe. He’s so dreamy! hehe. but no seriously he’s good. and I found his poppy happy yet melancholy style appropriate for the movie! congrats, Dan in Real Life team! good choice! had they made a different musical choice, I probably wouldn’t have enjoyed the movie as much. just saying.
